Soma, the fickle Moon, as its deity,
Mrigashira nakshatra, with the head of a deer as its symbol (in fact, mrigashira literally means ‘the head of a deer’) is always on a search. Being partially in the earthly Taurus and partially in the airy Gemini, it is always somewhere between heaven and earth – which can give birth to changeability and indecisiveness too. We may try to do too many things at the same time and search for its fulfillment in too many places simultaneously. Moon in Mrigashira gives birth to a very swift and active mind, and whenever Moon is transiting this nakshatra our mind can become distracted, overly active and ungrounded. However, this energy can also help us in travelling, adventuring and researching if we channel it wisely.
